I am the Project Artist on an EU-funded project working in Hill of Beath, Kelty and Crossgates, all in Fife. The project is run by PAS (Planning Aid for Scotland) and has been about gathering what the communities want and need in each of these places, specifically working with pupils from Beath High and Focus Groups in the community. We are also taking the opinion-gathering out into the community centres and playgrounds with ‘Asset Mapping’.
As the Project Artist I started with performances of Plan and am also coordinating the various public artworks in the project areas.
My involvement runs from October 2017 to February 2018 and then the project hopefully moves into a second phase where people are employed to work on some of the things the communitieshave identified for improvement in the areas – things including green space and activities for young people.
You can read my blog about the first couple of weeks of the project here.
