Born and brought up in Kinross-shire and now based in Glasgow, I am a theatre maker, writer and performer. I work in Scots and English. I write for performance, as well as writing prose in my monthly column for The National. I perform in my own work and in other people’s. I also deliver training on Scotland’s native minority languages which I created and deliver with specialists in Gaelic and British Sign Language.
I studied at the University of Edinburgh and at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I was an academic studying the work of Scottish poet and artist Ian Hamilton Finlay before I moved into theatre to study acting at RCS.
I am a minority language activist and a native Scots speaker. I am also a member of the Scottish Green Party and passionate about climate justice.
